I went to a food science networking event and it was at Amphora Nueva in Berkeley. An olive oil and vinegar store. We learned about the oils. That it's ok to cook with evoo as long as it comes from a reputable source (in scientific terms: as long as the free fatty acids are low.). They carry oils from thier own farm but also international brands. The've won nationwide taste test and provide oil for the olive oil center in Davis.
I had a blast tasting all the oils. They provide a lot of flavored/Infused oils and vinegars. Blood orange oil. Lavender balsamic vinegar. Endless choices! I must go back. You should stop by too!
Best part. It is right next to the Claremont Hotel. You can walk over for the view and maybe a drink.
